Learn More About Marlton, NJ
Marlton, also known as Evesham Township, was first settled by Quakers in 1672. It was incorporated as a township in 1692.
The name Marlton started to be used in the early 1800s. It was named that because of the marl type of clay commonly found in the local soil.
One of Burlington County’s original 13 townships, Marlton is just 15 miles southeast of Philadelphia and is close to both the city and many rural areas both within and outside the town.
The township used to be defined by Olga’s Diner, a landmark restaurant and bakery that sat at the intersections of Routes 30 and 73. Today, the diner and circle are not there.
Marlton does offer great schools, lots of stable neighborhoods and a variety of local businesses. It provides lots of athletic facilities, areas of open space and residents with a high median income. As such, Marlton is a fine place to reside.
